I have been collecting die cast collectible classic muscle cars and collectible toys for years. The crux of this collection is focused on GTO’s and other muscle cars in the form of die cast models in every scale, however, as my horizons have expanded so has the scope of my collection.
As a broad overview, I would say I have nearly hundreds of thousands worth of merchandise. 98% of this is brand new, in boxes and unopened. Some of it is displayed in cases. It is all outstanding and I have always purchased the most desirable items. The items range in age from the 1940’s to present day. My intent initially was to just fill my office up with some die cast models and some cool classic toys, even some of the newer stuff that I liked and I thought would be definitely classics some day. I started collecting stuff for my kids to have in 20 years as memories of their childhood, but as we sometimes do, I began to get compulsive about the whole ordeal. As a result my 4 car garage is shelved with boxes and boxes and boxes and boxes of some of the coolest stuff there is, but I could use the room and the money. I would like to sell my entire collection rather than piece by piece.
At one point we considered opening up a museum or restaurant/museum in which these items would be ideal. Right now we own a classic car restoration business. That is why our interests and ideas revolved around these sorts of collectibles. And, again, as I said before, it became a compulsion, which resulted in having such a large lot of items. I’ve taken pictures of the items I have out of boxes and displayed. I cannot possibly display enough pictures in an auction to thoroughly and properly represent this outrageously extensive collection of items, so I have taken general pictures and I will try to list, to the best of my ability, what we have. I think I am correct in assuming that phone conversations will have to take place between any perspective buyer and myself in order to communicate properly this collection.
I thought this collection would be ideal for another person with such a compulsion or even someone with the idea such as we had of a museum, restaurant/museum concept or something of this nature. This package may also appeal to Ebay retailers or someone with a retail store. Please be advised that I am not prone to separate the collection or any of its’ components at this point.
There are hundreds of boxes of items, some very rare, some just very cool and desirable. One thing is for sure, the reserve is set at far under value and at less than half of out of pocket expenses. When I had this auctioned, the reserve was set at $100,000. I believe retail to be at about $250,000 with my out of pocket expenses at about $200,000 to $225,000. This is quite a buy for anyone interested. I can assist with packing and shipping.

Basically, what we have here is sort of a chronological set up with many genres of items representing the eras of the 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and 2000s as they relate to pop culture and are all dictated and surrounded by the automobile industry. There is a very heavy density of GTO and classic muscle car items from the 60’s and 70’s as well as a high density and concentration on the car and car related items, however, some of these items spill over into other genres such as; toys, games, guns. It all makes sense and is a very carefully planned collection.
With my out of pocket expenses, just in the items being around $250K, that does not included all the shipping and tax paid which has to amount to another $30K. Needless to say, at under $100K this collection is a no-brainer. You will be surprised and amazed at some of the things that aren’t even mentioned on this list. Items such as; Transformers from the very early 80’s involving the Z cars and so forth, including the original instructions. Some of these items were selling for $800 to $1500 in a good market which I haven’t even calculated in. There are baseball cards, hockey cards, football cards, sports items and anything you can imagine associated with the muscle car era from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s.
We also have a healthy collection of items involving the late model muscle car era of the 80’s, 90’s and 2000. We have hundreds of unopened plastic models, some dating back to the early 60’s of GTOs and Mustangs and even Shelbys. Some of the models we have are of 66, 67 GTO’s, unassembled and are motorized. Some of these GTO plastic models and other muscle car models were purchased for nearly $1,000 each and are extremely rare and in incredible condition. We even had an entire collection of only Firebirds and Trans Ams with hundreds of 1:64 scale cars in original packages. We have stands, racks, turnstiles, mobiles, displays and other items that can show these cars, many of them vintage from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s.
We also have an incredible collection of kids car carriers from these decades like brand new. There are layouts, tracks, remote control cars. It would be impossible to explain it all and there are quite possible over 10,000 items though we have not counted. There are 1 of a kind cars, car club cars, exclusive cars made by K-Mart, Wal Mart, Pennys, Kresgie and many other companies that made exclusive items back then. Also included is a brand new train set from the 60’s unopened; Dukes of Hazard race set, mostly every movie car model and die cast in every different scale size, talking cars, dancing cars, cars that play music, cars that change color, car sets from different countries. Items with original receipts. It just goes on and on.
This collection would be amazing for a theme restaurant, a show room, a museum or anything where people will enjoy seeing cars, toys and collectible items from every era which represent the history of our pop culture and our addiction with cars and anything related to them and the eras in which they flourished and existed.
